A weekly advice column for K-12 teachers to share their joys, frustrations, and ongoing questions about teaching.
After two years of surveys and qualitative interviews to better understand teachers’ needs, Chalkbeat launched a new product: a weekly advice column for teachers. I worked with the project manager to design branding for the column including a logo, newsletter template, and promotional graphics. I also developed an illustration style and created custom photo illustrations on a weekly basis for the column.

“Lauren is a skilled graphic designer and is passionate about working for non-profit organizations. In my experience working with Lauren at Chalkbeat, she stood out for her willingness to accept new assignments and her excellent technical insight. In addition to providing design services for the Chalkbeat editorial and business teams, she was able to create internal workflows for support of the design team within Chalkbeat. I would be happy to work with her again.”
