My mission is to use graphic design and illustration to entertain and empower. I primarily work with mission-driven organizations to enhance their visual language. I am currently seeking full-time opportunities.
Most recently I was the Digital Designer for Chalkbeat, one of the largest non-profit news organizations in America. Throughout my three years at Chalkbeat I redesigned the social media graphics library and event listing system, designed branding for new products – including Votebeat, a new vertical of the organization and After the Bell, a weekly advice column for teachers, managed multiple CMS migrations, designed logos, graphics, and illustrations for stories, and created countless event graphics, help docs, and presentation decks.
Previously, I worked as the in-house designer for Pennsylvania Ballet and I began my career as an intern at SpotCo, designing key artwork for Broadway shows. I have a B.F.A. in Visual Communications from the University of Delaware.
Testimonials
“I hired Lauren to create a logo for my campaign. We went over the inspiration that I had and discussed the meanings behind it. Shortly after that she had a list of mock-ups for me to choose from and we refined the logo from there. I couldn’t be any happier with the process or the end product itself. Lauren was incredibly professional, communicative, and responsive.”
-Sean Wayland, Client

-Kara Howland, Pennsylvania Ballet
“One of Lauren’s great skills is her ability to listen to ideas and synthesize them into a design. I appreciate how flexible she is and her ability to receive feedback in a positive way is commendable and valuable for a designer. She handled multiple departmental priorities in a professional graceful manner.”
-Kristine Medley Farmer, Pennsylvania Ballet
“Lauren puts a lot of heart into the work she does. She always does her research, making sure to understand the application of what she is working on. She is detail-oriented and there are well thought out reasons for all the design decisions she makes.”
